I've tried to graphically explain Darren Wilson's defense as his lawyer presented it to the Grand Jury which declined to press charges in his shooting of Michael Brown. I think this makes sense...and by the way.....
Michael Brown was a hood, a gang member, a bully and a criminal; But it seems that Darren Wilson chased him into a corner with the intention of killing him. Cops are too often too full of their own self importance and authority and it goes to their heads.
The police force attracts a certain type of insecure and poorly educated individual that has proven in numerous cases to be a threat to society at large.
To clarify the issue...Browns background, real or alleged is not the issue here. In fact, the issue of his guilt or innocence in the original incident which triggered the controversy is not the issue. The real issue is the manipulation of the justice system. The manipulation of the grand jury by the prosecutors. Many aspects of this process were highly unusual to say the least. Wilson was allowed to testify with out cross examination and his version of the vents colored the perception so the proceedings. The mere fact that the defendant was allowed to testify under these conditions is highly unusual and is not allowed in most Grand Jury proceedings. Then there were the guidelines explaining the law given to the jurors at the beginning of the case. It was not until the end of the proceedings that the jurors were informed that the legal guidelines were based on a statute that had been ruled unconstitutional and was in fact invalid. Too many people are pouring gasoline and igniting the very real racial hatred and fear that still infects the soul of America. You would think that the legal system would be a way to address the realities of this, but in most cases, they are the biggest enablers.
