A blast from the past. Crumb is one of my all time favorites. I am really glad he is still doing it!

P.S.I also used that cartoon in my blog. I still have a Gilbert Shelton Freak Brothers comic in my "collection" (pile of old stuff).

Crumb has been living in France for many years in the little village of Suave in the Gard. I actually met him and his wife and daughter one afternoon with our friend who was posing for a portrait. Crumb showed us the giant statue of his Devil Girl character. He had enlisted the aid of a local auto body shop repairman to teach him how to do Bondo, because he was working with fiberglass tape over a framework. This cartoon and one he drew collaboratively with his wife Aline will be published in tomorrows Liberation paper. Shelton was living here as well and was doing a strip for a few years published in Psychopat magazine called Not Quite Dead...a sort of punk rock late 80's/90's version of the Freak Brothers.!
