Marvin Gaye, 1965, one of the great songs from the Golden Age of Motown by one of the greatest soul singers of all time. This is a lyp synched TV appearance and the bouffant finger snappin' blonds reach for immortality here! I found myself singing this at the top of my lungs going full tilt down hill on my bike today, so I just had to find it on YouTube! It's the perfect song for this week....
I actually like the corny 60's kitsch. Those Motown writers wrote great lyrics...and one of the best writers was Smoky Robinson and the great Miracles songs he wrote... Tracks Of My Tears.... Incredible stuff, Smoky and the Miracles wrote this song for Marvin and Smoky Robinson was the producer of the record!
"I know love can last through years.
ReplyDeleteBut how can love last throough tears?"
TLGK
