C.C. Rider/Jenny Take A Ride

Yeah, I know it's Lipsynchin" but sometimes it's almost as good as the memory. 1965, Detroit Wheels fronted by blue eyed sould man extraordinaire, Mitch Ryder performing one of their patented medleys, CC Rider and the Little Richard piece, Jenny Take A Ride.
I fell into the rabbits hole of memory tonight and this is what I came up with. This was the the hottest white band in Detroit in 1965 and here they are in all their greasy glory on Robin Seymour's Swingin' Time from Windsor, Ontario. Check out Jim McCarty's lead solo...he was probably one of the hottest American guitarists at the time.

Mitch Ryder is performing still and sounds great after a few decades of dealing with the hell of tax problems and impoverishment caused by crooked ma
nagement. He wasn't the only artist screwed by Bob Crewe.

McCarty using the Ampeg Scrambler in Cactus made some of the most brutal tones in Rock, IMO.

I remember seeing Cactus a few times at the Toledo Sports Arena...they would tour with Ted Nugent....
Ted and Jim would engaged in guitar duels as part of the show...great theater as they tried to break things using sheer sonic force!
