This was such a joy to hear. A wonderful audio essay on Secular Humanism. I am such an admirer and fan of Stephen Fry. I listen to BBC radio and for years he was on some of their most hilarious improv radio panel shows. I have most of his written work and most of his work with Hugh Laurie on Video. Most Americans know him from the Laurie/Fry collaboration of their adaptation of the P.G. Wodehouse Jeeves and Wooster Books and then the entire Rowan Atkinson Black Adder series. But they had been working together for years since their days at Cambridge University. If you want to see what they had been doing as a creative team, check out A Bit of Fry and Laurie, their BBC series. Here's a sample of the level of intellectual madness they inflicted on an unsuspecting public:
But, here's further evidence of the intellectual subversion perpetrated by Stephen Fry. An encounter with Robin Williams. Two improvisational comic geniuses are sort of interviewing each other and it is like two insane computers with different operating systems finding the perfect interface.
Fry is a fucking genius. If you are interested in reading some of his novels and collected work, try for starters: Liar, a novel. Moab Is My Washpot, a sort of autobiographical piece or his collected essays, Paperweight....
