I find myself in agreement with that statement. Although, TV can be useful. That means the programmes themselves aren't necessarily the annoying thing as much as the commercials.
Commercials are annoying for several reasons: 1) they intrude upon the programming (although are useful for TV breaks) 2) they represent corporate control over the media.
