In the last post, Risky, Ryuichi Sakamoto mentions the comic series, Barefoot Gen.
I commented that Barefoot Gen was one of the most powerful pieces of comic literature I have ever seen as well as being an incredible first hand survivors tale of the nuclear devastation of of Hiroshima. It is an autobiographical document by the artist/author, Keiji Nakazawa describing his experiences as a 6 year old child. I have the entire Gen series of original manga, but I was amazed to learn that it had been adapted with Nakazawa's art work into an anime film series released between 1976 and 1980. This is part one of 9 now available on YouTube.
I plan on posting all 9 episodes in the next week as I watch them!
